How people in Clermont actually find you

Nearly everyone who needs a roofer, a dentist, a pool tech, or a lawn crew in Clermont starts on a phone. They type a few words, scan the first screen, and have a short list inside a minute. That screen is crowded: paid results, a map with three businesses, a written summary, directory listings, then real local websites.

Clermont adds a wrinkle. You are not only up against the shop across town. Orlando companies list Clermont as a service area and advertise into it, and South Lake County businesses do the same in reverse. Someone here sorts that mixed list fast, on one question: which of these can be trusted with the job.

Answering it is your website's job. Ranking gets you onto the screen; the site turns a glance into a call, and it is usually the piece ignored the longest. If it loads slowly, hides the phone number, or reads like it was written for anywhere in Florida, the next result gets the call. The ranking side lives on our Clermont SEO page. This one is about what people land on.

One thing worth saying straight. AI answers now sit in front of many of these searches, inside Google and in tools like ChatGPT, and Google does sell ads in and around those answers, so paid placement is part of that screen too. What money does not buy is the organic answer itself: no budget decides which businesses it names. That comes down to what your pages say and how clearly they are structured, which is the same work as AI search.

What custom web design means when we say it

Custom means the site is written by hand for your business. No WordPress, no page builder, no theme bought off a marketplace and bent to fit a tree service. Pages are built in plain HTML and CSS with a small amount of JavaScript, which is why they open quickly on a phone with two bars in a truck cab. There is no plugin stack to keep patched, and nothing breaks the week a plugin author walks away.

The difference shows up in four places you can actually feel:

The method is written out on how we build, and the service itself on custom web design. When a project needs real functionality behind the pages, a booking flow or a client portal, that runs through web development.

How we work with Clermont businesses

We are in Orlando, not Clermont. Worth saying plainly, because plenty of listings for Clermont web design belong to companies nowhere near Clermont who would rather you did not ask. Clermont is a short drive from us, so if you want to sit across a table, we can. Most clients do not bother. The work runs on phone, text, email, and video calls, the same as with our clients everywhere else.

Brandon Kelly does the work. There is no account manager between you and the person writing your pages, and no handoff to a junior after the deposit. Kelly Webmasters and Marketers is Orlando-based, working with local service businesses nationwide since 2008. We build the same way in Orlando, Winter Park, Kissimmee, and Lake Mary.

Now the honest part. A website will not fix a phone nobody answers, a price out of step with your market, or a service area you cannot really cover. It will not make you the top result the week it launches, and nobody can honestly promise that it will. What a good site does is make you easy to find, easy to understand, and easy to hire, and stop leaking the visitors you have already earned. If what you have is already doing that, we will say so rather than sell you a rebuild.

Everything is month to month. You own the site, the content, the domain, and every account we set up for you, and all of it stays yours if you leave.

What is in a build

Every project starts from the same base and gets sized to the business. A five-page site for a solo contractor and a sixty-page site for a multi-trade company get the same groundwork underneath.

Some businesses need more than pages: a store through ecommerce, a quoting or scheduling tool through custom tools, or measurement and testing through analytics and CRO. The whole menu sits on our services page.

How the build actually goes

The order rarely changes, and at every step you will know what is waiting on us and what is waiting on you.

Timelines follow scope and how fast content comes back, so you get a schedule before the work starts instead of a number now. There is a guide on how long it takes to build a website for the general shape, and a free website report card if you want to see what condition your current site is in.

What it costs

Our prices are published, and they are the same in Clermont as anywhere else.

Google Ads management is quoted after a free consult rather than posted as a rate. Most of the industry charges either a flat monthly fee or a percentage of your ad spend; we quote a flat fee, so our pay does not go up every time your budget does. The details are on the Google Ads page.

A few things do not change. Everything is month to month, with no long-term contract and no exit fee, you own the site, the content, and the accounts, and the mockup, the audit, and the first conversation cost nothing. To check any of this against the wider market, the what should you pay tool and our guide to how much a website costs lay out the ranges and the red flags, and the ongoing side is broken down on local SEO and in how much SEO costs.

Common questions

What does a custom website cost for a Clermont business?

A custom build runs $3,500 to $12,000+ one time, depending on page count, how much writing we do, and whether the site needs functionality like booking, a store, or a calculator. Ongoing SEO is separate and optional, at $1,500 to $3,500 per month for most businesses. The mockup and the quote come first, and both are free.

Do you use WordPress or a page builder?

No. Every site is hand-coded in HTML, CSS, and a small amount of JavaScript. That keeps pages fast, keeps the markup clean enough for search engines and AI systems to read, and removes the plugin stack behind most of the security scares people bring us.

How long does a build take?

It depends on the size of the site and on how quickly photos, service details, and approvals come back from you. Content is almost always the bottleneck, not the coding. You get a schedule before the work starts, and you can ask at any point whose court it is in.

I already have a website. Do I need a new one?

Maybe not. Some sites are sound underneath and only need pages added, speed work, or better contact paths, and we will say so. A rebuild makes sense when a site is slow, hard to edit, invisible in search, stuck on a platform you cannot leave, or does not say what you do.

You are in Orlando. Does that matter for a Clermont business?

Not in practice, and we would rather be up front about it than pretend otherwise. Nearly all of the work happens by phone, text, email, and video call, the same as with our clients in other states. Clermont is a short drive, so meeting in person is easy to arrange.

Will a new site help me show up in Google and in AI answers?

It helps, because clean structure, fast pages, and clear content are what both of them read. Be careful with anyone who promises placement. Google sells ads in and around AI answers, so paid results do appear there, but no budget decides which businesses the organic answer itself names. That part comes from your content and your reputation.

Who owns the site, and am I locked into a contract?

You own it: the site, the code, the content, the domain, and the analytics and profile accounts, and you keep every piece if you leave. Everything is month to month, no long-term contract and no exit fee. Ongoing work continues only as long as it is worth what you pay.
