Websites for dermatologists, built to work

Most dermatology practice websites come from the same handful of page builders, the same stock photography, and the same paragraph about compassionate care. We build custom-coded sites around how new patients actually search and decide, structured for both Google and AI answer engines. Everything is coded by hand, month-to-month, and yours to keep.

Why most dermatology practice websites don't do their job

A dermatology website can look polished in a screenshot and still fail the practice every day it's live. Most of the problems are specific and fixable, not bad luck or a stronger competitor across town.

None of that is a marketing budget problem. It's a website problem, and it's the one we start with.

What we actually do

A dermatology website from Kelly Webmasters and Marketers is custom-coded, not assembled from a theme someone else is also using across town. Every page is built around what your practice actually offers, not a generic template's idea of what a medical practice should say.

Beyond the build itself, we also offer custom tools when a practice wants something more than a website: a cost estimator, an intake quiz, a booking widget, built for that specific practice rather than bolted on from a plugin marketplace. If you want the site backed by ongoing visibility work, SEO for dermatology practices and local SEO for dermatology practices are separate, month-to-month engagements, not something bundled into the build by default.

How this plays out for a dermatology practice specifically

Dermatology sits in an unusual spot for a website. Some of what a practice does is genuinely elective, cosmetic consults and aesthetic treatments, and some of it is closer to a referral-driven medical specialty: biopsies, chronic skin conditions, surgical follow-up. Insurance is usually the first question right after location, which networks a provider is in, and whether a cosmetic treatment is even the kind of thing insurance touches at all. A single homepage written for one side of the practice rarely serves the other well.

A few patterns are worth planning the site around:

What makes Kelly WM different

Three things separate this from a typical web design shop or a marketing agency that treats the website as an afterthought to the ad account.

Who this is a good fit for, and who it isn't

This service fits a dermatology practice that needs an actual website built: a first real site, a full rebuild of something outdated, or a practice that has outgrown a DIY builder. It assumes there's a real practice, a real phone number, and real services to build pages around.

Website work and both SEO services sit under the broader dermatology overview.

The process, in four steps

Four steps, start to finish:

What a dermatology practice website costs

Custom dermatology practice websites run $3,500 to $12,000+, one time, depending on how many providers and treatment pages you need and how much photography and content work is involved. There's no separate monthly website fee stacked on top unless you choose ongoing SEO, local SEO, AI search work, or reputation management.

If you add ongoing SEO or local SEO, that typically runs $1,500 to $3,500 a month for most practices, or $3,500 to $7,500 a month in a competitive metro area or for a multi-location practice. Google Ads management doesn't have a flat published rate: agencies typically charge either a flat monthly fee or a percentage of ad spend, and the right structure depends on your budget. We quote a flat fee after a free consult once we know what you're working with.

Custom tools, if you want one built alongside the site, start around $600 for a simple calculator and run $1,500 to $4,000 for most workhorse tools, with Tool Care at $75 a month per tool for upkeep. A practice that sells a skincare line through the site itself can add online ordering starting around $3,500, one time, the same as the rest: month-to-month, no long-term contract, you own it.

Common questions

Do you only build the website, or do you also handle SEO for dermatology practices?

We do both, but as separate engagements. The website is a one-time, custom-coded build. SEO and local SEO for dermatology practices are month-to-month work on top of that, aimed at visibility over time rather than a one-time deliverable. You can start with just the website and add SEO later, or the other way around if you already have a site you're keeping. Nothing is bundled by default.

How long does a dermatology practice website take to build?

It depends mostly on how many providers and treatment pages you need and how quickly we get photography and content back from the practice. A single-location build with a handful of providers moves in stages: structure and design, then content and provider pages, then testing before launch. A larger practice with more providers and a cosmetic gallery takes longer simply because there's more to build correctly.

Can you build a separate page for each dermatologist or PA in the practice?

Yes, that's standard for a dermatology build. Each provider gets their own page with credentials, focus areas, and a real photo, not a shared team grid where every bio is two sentences long. It matters here specifically because patients often search for a provider by name before they search for the practice, especially for a return visit or a referral.

Do you provide photography for the site?

We work with whatever photography the practice already has: provider headshots, office shots, before-and-after galleries where that applies to your cosmetic services. If a practice doesn't have usable photography yet, we'll tell you exactly what's missing before launch instead of quietly dropping in stock photos of models who have never been in the building. Good photography matters more here than in most industries, since patients are trusting these are the actual people who will be looking at their skin.

What about HIPAA and patient privacy on the website itself?

The public website doesn't handle protected health information, it's marketing, not a patient portal. Contact and new patient forms are built with HIPAA-consciousness in mind: short fields, no open-ended box inviting sensitive detail, and clear routing to your front desk. If your practice already uses a secure intake system or patient portal, we link out to it rather than trying to replace it.

Do you require a long-term contract?

No. Everything is month-to-month, including any SEO, local SEO, or AI search work added after the site is built. You own the site, the content, and any accounts tied to it. If you decide to leave after a month or after five years, you're leaving with what you paid for, not starting over somewhere else. That includes the domain and hosting arrangement, not just the design files.

What does a custom dermatology practice website cost?

Custom dermatology websites run $3,500 to $12,000+, one time, depending on how many providers and treatment pages you need, whether there's a cosmetic gallery, and how much content and photography work is involved. That's a one-time build cost, separate from any ongoing SEO or local SEO work, which is priced and billed month-to-month on its own. A practice with two providers and a handful of treatment pages sits toward the lower end, a multi-provider practice with a full cosmetic line sits higher.
