How much does a website cost for an orthodontist?
The short answer: Kelly WM's published custom website range is $3,500 to $12,000 or more, one time. That is our price range, not an industry average. The quote depends on the agreed pages, existing content and assets, migration work and supported handoffs. An office count alone does not determine the price. Ongoing work is scoped separately, and the practice owns the site, content and accounts.
What actually moves the number on an orthodontic build
Three things decide what a build costs: the number of pages it needs, how much of what fills them has to be made from scratch instead of carried across, and what has to be untangled before anything new can go up. Review each against the practice's actual site and requirements.
- Page count follows treatment lines, doctors, and offices. Decide which treatment topics need separate pages and which belong together. Provider and location pages should use accurate practice-supplied details, including office hours and contact directions.
- The consultation handoff needs a scope. Identify the practice's existing scheduling or patient portal and the intended website contact path. Linking to a system and integrating with it are different tasks. Clinical intake and insurance verification are not assumed website-form features; any proposed data handling needs the practice's review before implementation.
- Approved images need an inventory. If a gallery is part of the scope, identify the source files, captions and any existing pairings or tags. The practice confirms material is cleared for the proposed use. Staff editing and gallery-management features must be specified rather than assumed.
- What you have now may not be yours to take with you. Before budgeting a migration, check the actual agreement: what exports, who controls the domain and accounts, and which content or images can be reused. Do not assume every vendor has the same ownership or licensing terms.
The general mechanics behind any website price live in the website cost guide. What follows is only how those mechanics play out in an orthodontic practice.
Where a practice lands inside the range
Kelly WM's published range for a custom build is $3,500 to $12,000 or more, one time. It is not a set of orthodontic packages with a prescribed page count at each price.
- The agreed page plan. List the homepage, treatment information, provider and office pages, and consultation instructions that are actually needed.
- What can be preserved. Review useful existing content, approved photographs, URLs and working systems before replacing them.
- What needs additional work. Migration, a larger content plan, distinct office routing or a supported integration can change the scope. A second office does not automatically multiply the price.
Readable text and accurate technical structure are website foundations. Ongoing AI search optimization has its own scope and published price; no build feature guarantees that an assistant will cite the practice.
What pushes the price up, and what brings it down
Work that may expand the scope:
- Several genuine offices need distinct pages, directions or contact routing. Listing management is a separate scope question.
- You want distinct treatment pages with practice-approved content and photographs, rather than a short summary for each treatment.
- Content needs several reviewers. Agree the approval process and revisions before work starts; a review delay is not an automatic price increase.
- You have a particular launch date. Check whether it is feasible rather than assuming a deadline changes the price; how long a build takes covers the normal pace.
Existing inputs that can reduce new work:
- One office, one doctor, and a treatment menu you are happy to launch narrow and widen later. Trimming scope is the honest lever, not trimming quality.
- The practice supplies and approves the treatment facts, office details and first-visit information needed for the page plan.
- You already have photographs and other assets the practice has approved for the proposed use.
- The existing scheduling and patient portal work well, and the agreed website handoff can preserve them. Integration support still needs checking.
The quote should reflect the website work, not a presumed budget based on the practice's size or treatment revenue.
What the build price does not include
Ask for one-time and ongoing costs to be separated. Kelly WM's published SEO or local SEO range is $1,500 to $3,500 a month for most businesses, and $3,500 to $7,500 for competitive metros or multi-location businesses. See what SEO costs for an orthodontist. It is not automatically part of a website quote.
Google Ads management is quoted as a flat fee after a free consultation, with ad spend separate. Confirm hosting and maintenance responsibilities and any third-party costs. Kelly WM quotes custom tools to a written scope. A general tool quote does not establish the price or feasibility of a clinical system.
What to do next
The only way to turn a range into a number is a short call: how many offices and doctors, which treatments the site has to sell, how intake runs today, and what the current site is built on. We quote after looking at those four things, not from a rate card. Start with a free mockup, or send a quote request.
Two things you can do first, both free. Run a page from your site through the website report card, and compare any quote you collect against the ranges and red flags in the what should you pay tool. More than 50 free tools are published at kellywm.com/tools, with no email wall.
No build comes with a promised ranking or a promised number of new starts. What a quote can pin down is the shape of the job: the page list, the forms, the review rounds, and the calendar.

Related questions
Do our before and after photos survive a move to a new site?
Review the export and the practice-approved image inventory before quoting a move. Confirm the files, captions and any pairings or tags that need preservation. The practice must confirm the proposed use is approved; the website quote should identify any gallery-management features rather than assume them.
Does the build include a virtual smile assessment or a treatment cost estimator?
Neither is assumed to be included. A calculation tool needs defined inputs and an agreed scope. Clinical photo intake or an assessment requires separate feasibility and practice-system review; general custom-tool prices do not establish that such a system is offered. Confirm the ordinary consultation handoff separately.
Can our front desk update the insurance list and office hours without calling you?
Agree who will make those changes and what editing access or maintenance process is included before signing. Staff-editable pages are a specific feature to confirm, not an automatic property of every custom-coded site.
