Is SEO worth it for cabinet companies?

The short answer: For most cabinet companies, yes, and for one reason: SEO takes very few jobs to pay for itself. One extra kitchen a month, or one builder who starts sending work, covers it in most shops. It is worth it if you have room on the schedule, a service area big enough to hold real demand, and the patience to give it a year. It is not worth it if you are booked out and want to stay that way, if two referral partners already fill your calendar, or if you need jobs booked by next month.

Start with what one kitchen is worth to your shop

Skip the traffic question. What decides this for a cabinet company is how few jobs the work has to produce before it pays for itself.

As a worked example with round hypothetical figures, not a claim about your shop: say a full kitchen runs $12,000 and you keep about a quarter of it after boxes, doors, finish, and install. That is roughly $3,000 of gross profit on one job. Ongoing SEO or local SEO runs $1,500 to $3,500 per month for most businesses. In that example break-even sits near one extra kitchen a month, or two for a dealer working on thinner semi-custom margins. Run your own figures before anyone quotes you anything. For the pricing detail behind that anchor, the cabinet SEO cost answer covers it.

Then run the calculation most shops forget. A homeowner is one kitchen. A builder or a kitchen designer who sends three jobs a year is a channel. Both look you up before they commit, and the builder does it quietly, without ever touching your form. Most owners asking whether SEO is worth it mean will it ring the phone. In cabinets a real share of the return arrives as referral partners who checked you out and decided you looked like a shop they could put their name next to.

Third: cabinet sales close over a door sample in your showroom, not on a website. If a page of finishes and plain talk about custom versus stock gets one more person to drive over and open a drawer, the site did its job. Count showroom visits, not clicks.

Four situations where we tell a cabinet shop to wait

Sometimes the answer is no, or not yet.

Separate from those four: if a quote request sits for a week, more leads will not help. No amount of ranking fixes that.

What worth it looks like from the showroom floor

Nothing arrives at once, and the first change is not in the lead count. Early on the work is plumbing nobody sees from outside: pages that explain the lines you carry, the door styles and finishes you stock, the towns you deliver to, the finished kitchens with a caption under each. It feels like nothing is happening, because on the phone not much is.

The first real sign is the shape of the conversation. Someone calls having already read your page on custom versus stock and semi-custom, and instead of opening with what does a kitchen cost, asks about drawer box construction and lead time. That caller is easier to quote and to close. Then showroom appointments start landing from people who found you on their own. Later a designer mentions she came across you online first.

Further out, the compounding shows. The page about one door style, or one suburb, keeps pulling its own steady trickle, and none of it stops the month you pause an ad budget. We run first-party lead dashboards on more than 20 of the sites we manage for this reason: the case for the channel should be calls and forms you read yourself, not a story your marketing company tells you.

What none of that is: a schedule. Markets differ. Judge it on booked jobs and give it long enough to be judged.

How to decide before you sign anything

You do not need a proposal to settle this, just an hour and your own records.

If you decide it is worth it, insist on ownership: site, content, photos, domain, and every account stay yours, and the work stays month to month so it keeps earning its place. We are Orlando based and have worked with local service businesses nationwide since 2008, so a shop three states away is normal here.

What we build for cabinet companies is on the cabinet websites and SEO page. To see it on your own showroom first, take a free mockup, or call or text (407) 694-2055 and we will tell you straight whether it is worth it in your market.

Most of our work comes from two builders. Does SEO still make sense?

It makes a different kind of sense. You are not replacing those builders, you are trying to stop being one phone call from a slow year. Start narrow: a site that holds up when a new builder or kitchen designer looks you up, and pages for the towns you already deliver to. One more referral partner pays for it.

We are a dealer selling stock and semi-custom lines, not a custom shop. Is it worth it?

Often it is the clearer case. Homeowners spend a long stretch of a remodel comparing stock, semi-custom, and full custom, and most of what they find was written by manufacturers or by custom shops talking them out of both. A dealer who lays out the tradeoffs plainly, with the lines actually on the floor, wins the searches nobody else wants to write.

Should we just run Google Ads instead?

Plenty of cabinet companies run both, and if you need work soon, ads are the faster lever. The worth-it math is what differs: ads stop the day you stop paying, while a page about one door style or one suburb keeps pulling long after it was written. So the honest order depends on your bench. Empty this quarter, fund Google Ads first and let the slow work build underneath it. Booked into next season, put the money where it compounds.
