How much does SEO cost for a house cleaning business?

The short answer: For most house cleaning companies, ongoing SEO runs $1,500 to $3,500 a month. Companies working a large metro, running several crews, or covering more than one territory usually land at $3,500 to $7,500 a month, because more competitors are already spending and there are more towns and pages to keep current. What moves a cleaning company between those ranges is your service radius, how many kinds of clean you sell, whether you chase office work alongside homes, and how much your site, profile, and reviews still need. Everything is month to month with no long-term contract, and you own your site, your content, and your accounts.

What drives the number for a house cleaning business

Nobody can quote a cleaning company honestly without seeing the market first. The price tracks how much work your situation takes, and five things move that most.

What each range buys a house cleaning business

Ongoing SEO for most house cleaning companies runs $1,500 to $3,500 a month. Companies in competitive metros, or covering more than one territory, run $3,500 to $7,500 a month. Those are the figures we publish and charge. Why the work is priced monthly, and how to read a quote you are holding, is covered in the SEO cost guide.

In the first range, one or two crews in an ordinary market: a real page for each kind of clean instead of one services list, city pages for the towns you drive to, local schema so the map listing and the site agree, Google Business Profile management with photos of your actual team, a review request built into the end of every job, pricing content that gives a starting range by home size, and a content marketing cadence that follows the cleaning year, from the January reset to the spring deep clean surge to the summer move season. Reporting comes with the fee, and it reports booked jobs and form fills, not ranking screenshots. We run first-party lead dashboards on more than 20 of the sites we manage, so you can see where a booking came from yourself.

In the second range, the same work at a larger scale: more city pages, separate residential and commercial tracks, deeper technical work on a bigger site, and more time on profiles and reviews across several territories.

Plenty of cleaning companies belong in the lower half of the first range and should not be talked out of it. The cheap end below is usually a franchise package or a bundle sold with software or supplies, cheap because the same deep cleaning page went out to every company that bought it, comma for comma. Duplicate copy is hard to rank and harder still to get named by an AI assistant.

When it costs more, and when it costs less

Plenty of companies sit outside the middle of those ranges. The honest version of why:

Two things sit outside the monthly number. Google Ads is billed separately: agencies typically charge a flat management fee or a percentage of ad spend, and we quote a flat fee after a free consult rather than a cut of your budget. And AI answers now shape the shortlist before anyone gets called. Google sells ads in and around those answers, so that space is not free of paid placement, but no budget decides which companies the organic answer itself names. AI search optimization, making your pages readable to those tools, is part of the same monthly work.

How to get a real number for your business

Run your own math before you compare quotes. A recurring client is not one job, it is a slot on the schedule that repeats, so take your average recurring ticket, multiply it by the visits a year that client stays, and work out how many kept clients cover a plan in the middle of the first range. The count is usually smaller than it feels, because you are buying a book of business rather than one-time cleans.

Then apply the counterweight specific to this trade: cleaning is capped by hiring, not by demand. If you are booked out and cannot staff another crew, more leads buy you late arrivals, rushed jobs, and reviews you cannot take back. Retention and recruiting first is sometimes the right answer, and we will say so.

Three things you can do today without talking to anyone:

For how we work with this trade, see our house cleaning marketing page. We are Orlando based and have worked with local service businesses nationwide since 2008. When you want a real number, get a free mockup or call or text (407) 694-2055. The quote comes flat, in writing, and month to month.

Related questions

Is SEO worth paying for if we are already booked out?

Sometimes no, and we would rather say that than sell you a plan you cannot staff. House cleaning is capped by hiring, so lead flow past your crew capacity turns into late arrivals and bad reviews. If you are full, the useful spend is usually on keeping the recurring clients you have and on a careers page that collects applicants year round instead of only during an emergency. If you can hire but the phone is uneven, that is when the monthly work earns its keep.

Is SEO cheaper than buying leads from a marketplace app?

It is different, not automatically cheaper. Marketplace leads are billed per lead and often sold to several cleaners at once, so you pay again every time and you compete on price the moment the homeowner picks up. SEO is a monthly fee of $1,500 to $3,500 for most cleaning companies, it takes months rather than days to build, and the pages, schema, profile, and reviews stay yours after the invoice is paid. Plenty of owners run both for a while and let the marketplace spend fall as their own pages and reviews build.

How is it priced if we run more than one territory or a franchise unit?

Each territory is priced as its own scope, because each has its own profile, reviews, competitors, and city pages. That is the usual reason a multi-territory operator lands in the $3,500 to $7,500 a month range rather than the first one. If you are a franchisee, check what your corporate marketing fee already covers before adding anything, so you are not paying twice for the same pages. Everything on our side is month to month, with no long-term contract.
