How much does a website cost for a water heater company?

The short answer: A custom website for a water heater installation and repair company runs $3,500 to $12,000+ as a one time build. That is our published range at Kelly Webmasters and Marketers, not an industry average. A single location shop that needs a fast path for the no hot water call, a slower path for the planned replacement, and a plain list of what an install includes sits near the bottom of it. You move up as you add brand and fuel type pages, service area pages, and a sizing estimator.

The urgent call and the three week comparison, on one site

Your phone rings twice before lunch. The first caller has no hot water and will hire whoever picks up. The second has been weighing tank against tankless for three weeks and wants to know whether the garage can even take a tankless unit. A site built for only one of those two is the expensive mistake here.

So the price is really a page count and a tool count. What earns its keep here:

That is a water heater site, not a brochure.

What the bottom of the range buys, and what the top of it buys

Custom builds run $3,500 to $12,000+, one time. The general case, including when a template is the smarter buy, is in our website cost guide. Here is the water heater version.

Near the bottom. One location, one metro. Home, repair, replacement, tank and tankless, the inclusions page, reviews, a handful of service area pages where your routes already cluster, schema, and analytics wired up on day one. Enough to compete for the same day search in one city.

Through the middle. Symptom pages, because the person with a puddle on the garage floor searches the symptom, not the service. Fuel type pages for gas, propane, electric, and heat pump. Brand pages. A deeper service area layer aimed at the neighborhoods that all went up in the same two years, which is what local SEO should be: pages for the streets your trucks already cover, not for an entire county.

At the top and past it. More than one location or crew, a commercial section, recirculation and point of use work, and a migration off an older site with rankings worth preserving.

Tools are priced separately, so you can add one later without touching the build. Calculators start at $600, most workhorse tools run $1,500 to $4,000, and Tool Care is $75/month per tool. The one worth having here is a sizing and replacement estimator: it qualifies the homeowner before the phone rings and lets you publish a range with the variables named instead of a flat number you have to walk back at the curb. We publish more than 50 free tools at kellywm.com/tools with no email wall, so you can see the shape of one first. That is what custom tools are for.

What pushes a water heater build up the range, and what keeps it down

The number tracks scope, and here scope tracks how many kinds of work you actually do.

It climbs with:

It stays low when:

One thing that does not change the price: publishing what is inside your install price instead of a headline number. Transparency is a writing decision, not a line item. It is free, and the biggest difference between two water heater sites built for the same money.

Get the water heater page list before you sign anything

Ask for the scope as a page list, not a package name. Ten pages tells you nothing. A quote naming the repair page, the tank page, the tankless page, the inclusions page, and the four suburbs you actually drive does.

Keep the two numbers apart. The build is one time. Getting found is monthly, a different question with its own answer: see what SEO costs for a water heater company. Get quoted for them separately.

And make sure whatever you buy tells you where the jobs came from. The no hot water call and the three week tankless comparison arrive through different pages, and you cannot plan next year without knowing which one paid. We run first party lead dashboards on more than 20 of the sites we manage for that reason: every lead in one place, yours, not a marketplace's.

Everything ongoing is month to month, no long term contract, and you own the site, content, domain, and accounts. If you want to see the work before you spend anything, we will build you a free homepage mockup, yours to keep either way. Or call or text (407) 694-2055 and we will price the actual page list out loud.

Related questions

Do tank and tankless need separate pages, or can one services page cover both?

Separate. The two searches come from people on different timelines, and one page trying to serve both recommends nothing. Somebody weighing a hybrid heat pump against a standard electric unit wants sizing, venting, and what the install does to the panel. Merging them saves you a page and costs you the comparison.

We are a plumbing company. Is adding a water heater section cheaper than a new site?

Usually, if what is underneath is sound. We start with a free audit. Sometimes the site has good bones and the water heater section gets built on top; sometimes the foundation is why nothing ranks and a rebuild is faster. Either way we tell you which, and preserve the value already earned. Leaving water heaters as one bullet on a plumbing services page is a reliable way to hand this work to a competitor.

Can I skip the estimator and just put my install price on the page?

You can, and it will book the visit and then blow up when the real quote comes in higher. Fuel type, venting, install location, and code all move the real number, and the homeowner remembers the price, not the caveat under it. A published range with the variables named does the same job without the ambush, and a calculator starts at $600.
