Google & AI snippet preview.

See exactly how your page will look in Google search (desktop and mobile) before you publish, with live pixel-width checks on your title and description. The preview locked inside paid SEO suites, free.

Your title and description are your storefront in search

Before anyone visits your site, they see your title tag and meta description in the search results. They decide in a split second whether to click you or a competitor. This tool shows exactly how that snippet will look, and flags when it’s too long and gets cut off.

Why pixel width, not just characters

Google truncates titles and descriptions by pixel width, not character count, because wide letters take more room than narrow ones. A title around 600 pixels (roughly 55-60 characters) is safe on desktop; descriptions are usually cut near 920 pixels (about 155-160 characters). This tool measures the real width as you type.

What makes a snippet get clicked

Lead with the value and the location, include the keyword naturally, and give a reason to choose you (fast, licensed, free estimate, 5-star). Avoid keyword stuffing, it reads as spam and Google may rewrite it. Every page should have a unique title and description.

Pro tips

  • Put your most important words first, the front of the title carries the most weight and survives truncation.
  • Include your city or service area for local pages.
  • Write for humans: a compelling description lifts click-through even when rankings don’t move.
  • Never reuse the same title and description across pages.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a title tag be?
Aim for about 55-60 characters (under ~600 pixels) so it doesn’t get cut off on desktop. Front-load the important words in case it truncates on mobile.
How long should a meta description be?
Around 140-160 characters (under ~920 pixels). Long enough to be compelling, short enough not to get truncated.
Does the meta description affect rankings?
Not directly, but it strongly affects click-through rate, and a higher click-through rate on a result is a good signal. Treat it as ad copy for your listing.
Why does Google sometimes change my title?
Google may rewrite a title it considers unhelpful, stuffed, or mismatched to the page. Clear, accurate, well-sized titles are far less likely to be replaced.
