How much does SEO cost for a chimney sweep company?

The short answer: For most chimney sweep companies, ongoing SEO and Local SEO run $1,500 to $3,500 per month. Competitive metros and multi-location or franchise operations run $3,500 to $7,500 per month. Most single-truck and small multi-truck chimney companies sit in the lower band, because they are fighting for one metro and the towns around it rather than a dozen counties. If you also need the website built, that is a separate one-time cost of $3,500 to $12,000 or more. Everything is month to month, and you own the site, the content and the accounts.

What decides where a chimney company lands in that range

Nobody prices a trade. They price the work it takes to own the searches in your area, and for chimney companies four things set that number.

The general version of this argument, the one that applies to every trade, is in our SEO cost guide. This page is the chimney version.

What each range buys a chimney company

$1,500 to $3,500 per month is where most chimney companies land: one location, one metro, a normal service mix. A month in that band typically covers technical work on the site, the service pages (sweeps, inspections, caps and chase covers, liners, crowns and masonry, dryer vents if you run them), city pages for the towns you actually serve, Google Business Profile upkeep, a review request flow, and new pages each month rather than a blog nobody reads. It also covers making the site easy for AI assistants to quote, which is a different job from ranking. Whether that shift deserves your attention is its own question, and the work itself is AI Search Optimization.

$3,500 to $7,500 per month is competitive metros and multi-location or franchise operations. Four yards across a metro is four local programs sharing one brand: four profiles, four sets of town pages, four citation trails to keep straight, and enough content moving to hold all of it. The number goes up because the surface area does.

Either band includes measurement. First-party lead dashboards run on more than 20 of the sites we manage, so you can see which page and which town produced the call instead of guessing at the end of the season.

The website is separate. A custom build runs $3,500 to $12,000 or more, one time, and that has its own page. Custom tools are separate too: calculators start at $600, most workhorse tools run $1,500 to $4,000, and Tool Care is $75 per month per tool. For a chimney company that usually means a booking helper or a page walking an owner through what an inspection covers.

Google Ads is its own line again. We do not publish a management fee. The industry runs on either a flat monthly rate or a percentage of your ad spend; we quote flat after a free consult, and the ad budget stays yours and separate.

When the number climbs, and when it drops

It costs more when:

It costs less when:

Nobody can quote you a real monthly number over the phone without looking at your market first. What settles it is your town list, your service mix, and who is already ranking in front of you. Whether the number that comes back is worth paying, measured against what a sweep, an inspection and a liner job are worth to you, is a separate question with its own page.

Where to start before the next heating season

Two free tools first. What Should You Pay gives you a defensible budget range for your own market. The Website Report Card grades what you already own, which usually settles whether you are paying for a rebuild or an expansion. Both sit with the rest of the free tools.

After that, the chimney websites and SEO page lays out how we build for this trade, and a free mockup shows you a real concept before you spend anything. Everything ongoing is month to month, and the site, the content and the accounts stay yours the whole time.

We are Orlando based and have worked with local service businesses nationwide since 2008. If you would rather just ask, call or text (407) 694-2055, or read the SEO page to see what the monthly work actually is. The best time to have this sorted is a few months before the first cold front, not the week after it.

Related questions

Does the monthly price go up during heating season?

No. The retainer is the same in July as it is in November. What changes is what the work is worth to you: the pages built in the slow months are the ones carrying the phone through the fall. That is the argument for starting in spring, not the week the first cold front arrives.

We only do sweeps and inspections, no repairs. Does that lower the price?

It can. Fewer service lines means fewer pages to write and maintain, which pulls you toward the lower end of the range. The catch is that inspection searches and repair searches sit next to each other in the homeowner's head, so dropping the repair pages drops visits you would have referred out or grown into later.

Should we budget for Google Ads on top of the SEO retainer?

Sometimes, particularly through a first fall while the organic footprint is still filling in. We do not publish a management fee; the industry charges either a flat monthly rate or a percentage of spend, and we quote flat after a free consult. The ad budget itself is a third number, separate from both.
